Katy Memory Care
At SilverCrest Assisted Living and Memory Care, we know the toll that memory-related disorders can take on individuals and their families. We have experienced it firsthand, both personally and professionally. Our co-founder worked in the field for 15 years and has witnessed and provided the kind of care that can truly make a difference in someone’s life.
The rest of our executive team has also experienced the effects of dementia and memory disorders in their own family, which is what drove us to create the kind of community where these issues are proactively treated and addressed, and where residents can embrace and enjoy their lives, their relationships, and their community to the fullest.

Our Program in Katy
SilverCrest Assisted Living and Memory Care provides a personalized care plan for each resident, taking into consideration feedback from both physicians and family members. Our Life Enrichment Program is planned and executed by our experienced and trained director, and our calendar is coordinated with a full range of activities specializing in social, physical, and therapeutic improvement. This is all done to keep our residents happy and engaged, as well as to minimize agitation, depression, boredom, and other adverse behaviors or feelings that may arise. Activities may involve music, reminiscing, arts and crafts, games, and more. We also have family resident events that create meaningful connections that transcend the dementia experience.
People with memory-related issues benefit from structured days filled with meaningful activity. At SilverCrest Assisted Living and Memory Care, we use a person-centered activity approach in which we work closely with residents to compose lists of their interests and favorite hobbies. With this information, we develop and cater our activities specifically to our residents. Studies show that utilizing a person-centered activity approach can help decrease depression, improve self-esteem, improve sleep habits, increase mental and social stimulation, and minimize behavioral changes.
Some of the activities we offer include:
- Arts and crafts
- Pet therapy
- Music therapy
- Computer literacy classes
- Reading time
- Cooking classes
- Outdoor activities such as gardening or walking along our secure pathways
We modify each activity to the resident’s abilities in order to make it more enjoyable. It has been shown that when seniors remain active and engaged in activities familiar to them, it helps them live well for as long as possible.
Each unit in our community is elder-friendly and meets all ADA requirements. To honor our residents with dignified care where individuality prospers, those with similar abilities are grouped together to foster a sense of community and increase engagement in their daily lives. We take a personal interest in helping each resident manage the day-to-day requirements of their disability and preserve as much as possible.
Our Katy hospice care program allows residents to receive comfortable care with dignity, honor, and respect while following the care plan set by their physicians. Our focus of hospice is not on treatment, but on pain and symptom management, comfort measures, acknowledgement, supporting the family, and providing the best quality of life. Our goal is to enable our residents to live their last days to the fullest, with purpose, dignity, and grace.
Palliative care is meant to improve the quality of life among residents that are facing life-threatening illness. At SilverCrest Assisted Living and Memory Care, our goal is to help ease the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual concerns that may arise, so residents and families feel supported during this time.
Respite care at SilverCrest Assisted Living and Memory Care is offered on a temporary basis and is ideal when a loved one is being released from the hospital but continues to require hands-on care, or when an in-home caregiver or family member needs to leave town or requires a much-needed break.
Our Experienced hospice Team
Our deep understanding of the memory care field allows us to perfect our operations, including which roles we employ, how they interact, and who we hire. Our small but robust team offers staffing ratios higher than state requirements, meaning there will always be plenty of team members lending their full focus to your loved one. This level of staffing ratio prevents the kind of short-staffing incidents that can occur at larger, profit-driven communities.
Katy Alzheimer’s Disease Care
Our staff includes Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and a licensed nurse, all of whom are certified in addressing Alzheimer’s disease.
Our Evolved Environment
We practice a “resident-first” approach that prioritizes the care, safety, and satisfaction of those in our community over business outcomes and bottom lines. We exceed required state ratios, a choice which prioritizes people, not profit.
Each SilverCrest Assisted Living and Memory Care community is designed to accommodate 16 private suites. This creates a more spacious, yet familial, lifestyle to combat overcrowding and related health and safety concerns. The collective wellbeing is prioritized through a germicidal UVC light system, which maintains a high level of air quality by destroying viruses, bacteria, and other airborne factors that stand to jeopardize the health of our staff and residents.
